Just last week the New York Senate met for a special session in which they were expected to vote on legislation approved by the Assembly earlier this year that would legalize same-sex marriage in New York. Although the vote never came to the floor, Governor David Paterson has committed the Senate to vote on the issue before the end of the year and the bill is currently on agendas for new special sessions Monday and Tuesday.
This critical vote could come at any time in the next few weeks and its outcome is entirely uncertain.
Citizens of New York – send your state Senators a message today telling them to oppose this attempt to redefine marriage. Let them know what marriage means to you-marriage between one man and one woman.
