Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

The Salt Lake City TV station, KSL has decided not to air NBC’s new homosexual themed sitcom, “The New Normal”. With the intense public debate over gay marriage, KSL’s controversial decision has made national headlines.

NBC gives this description of the show on their website: “These days, families come in all forms – single dads, double moms, sperm donors, egg donors, one-night-stand donors… It’s 2012 and anything goes. Bryan and David are a Los Angeles couple and they have it all. Well, almost. With successful careers and a committed and loving partnership, the one thing missing is a baby.”

Jeff Simpson CEO of KSL’s parent company, Bonneville International said that some reasons KSL may not air a show are, “The dialogue might be excessively rude and crude. The scenes may be too explicit or the characterizations might seem offensive.” Last year, KSL chose not to air “The Playboy Club”.

KSL is a privately owned broadcast company that has a contract with NBC. As a privately owned business, KSL is within its rights to choose what NBC shows it will air.  Jeff Simpson stated that, “For our brand, this program simply feels inappropriate on several dimensions, especially during family viewing time.”

We applaud KSL for showing consideration toward the parents and children in Utah who do not believe in the “anything goes” ideology that most TV and media stations are espousing.
