Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

No one loves a bargain more than me and for a long time Groupon has been on my list of favorite on-line businesses.  No more.  I REALLY like food, travel and entertainment deals, but a discount on a tour of a San Francisco 5-story pornography studio isn’t in my vacation plans.   Groupon makes it economical for you ($65 down to $28) to tour the newly converted, 98-year-old former National Guard facility whose dungeon-like interiors are perfect for filming porn movies showcasing bondage and other S/M perversions that will go unmentioned in this post.

This is how Groupon explains this offer in its usual clever verbiage gone awry:

“A menagerie of ornate and functional fetish film sets … includes a plush lounge and dungeon environments, complete with props forged in an on-site metal shop…  “Depending on their timing, groups may also glimpse a live filming in progress, though the staff requests that patrons refrain from ogling the working boom mikes.”

Okaaaay….  What is Groupon thinking?!   That’s the question that Morality in Media asked Groupon leadership.  Their response:

“We thoroughly vet the businesses we feature. Fortunately, this business has proven to be a responsible member of their community.”

Makes you wonder what their parameters are for “vetting” a business.  By definition, a porn producer is not a “responsible member of their community.”   If you need further convincing visit:  www.pornharmsresearch.com

So it’s time to indicate what you think a responsible member of the business community should be doing.  Go here to sign an online petition put together by Morality in Media.  Be part of the groundswell of individuals to tell Groupon that this is unacceptable and that we’ll let our dollars do the talking if they don’t get it.  After all, there certainly isn’t a shortage of on-line retailers and business to choose from, so this one should be easy – even for a die-hard bargain hunter like me.
