Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

If it passes, it would make it so marriage could be interpreted as anyone who loves and wants to commit to one another- opening the doors of marriage to include children, incest, and groups of three or more people. #1. What is the definition of polyamory?

There are several different forms of non-monogamy. “Polygamy” is when one man is married to several women. “Polyandry” is the same thing in reverse: one woman married to several men. “Consensual non-monogamy” is when a couple chooses to be open with other people in their committed relationship. “Polyamory” is when multiple people engage in romantic relationships and are all involved with each other within their group.

#2. How many cities in the United States have passed ordinances to give benefits identical to those of heterosexual married partners to polyamorous groups?

Somerville, Massachusetts became the first city to pass laws giving polyamorous groups the same or similar rights that married heterosexual couples have. These laws affect employment and medical healthcare, giving multiple individuals the same rights that typically only one person’s spouse would be able to receive. Other cities giving these rights to polyamorous groups include: Cambridge and Arlington, Massachusetts as well as Oakland and Berkeley, California.

#3. What percentage of young people in the United States found polygamy morally acceptable in 2020?

According to the annual “Gallup’s Values and Beliefs poll” the percentage of young people who find polygamy morally acceptable has increased from 9% (from 2003-2006) to a whopping 34% (from 2018-2020). The most likely reason for such a large jump in acceptance is the way polygamy is portrayed in media. Many polgamy lifestyle influencers have taken to posting about their lives on social media, striving to make it the norm.

#4. How many countries allow for polygamy to be practiced legally?

There are 58 countries that have legalized polygamy (the practice of one man marrying multiple women). Polyandry (the practice of one woman marrying multiple men), however, is NOT legal in most countries.

#5. Bonus Question from last week: From the years 2020-2024, which Western country experienced the most violations of religious liberty?

The United States by far experienced the most instances of religious liberty violations within the last four years. A total number of 168 violations were identified in the West, with the US accounting for 58 of those violations, which is over a third of all Western violations. These violations include situations such as: teachers being fired for refusing to hide a student’s gender transitioning from parents, high school coaches being fired for saying there is a difference between biological men and women, and shop owners being sued for refusing their services for gender transitions, Satanism and same-sex weddings.
