By now you’ve probably seen multiple stories on the “house of horrors,” a reference to an abortion clinic in Philadelphia. A Grand Jury investigation of Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s abortion “practice” produced a 280-page report, a report that takes an extremely strong stomach to read. It gives the details on how babies and mothers were literally butchered while surrounded by filth and the decaying flesh of aborted babies. The report’s photographs leave little doubt as to the horrifically evil and monstrous practices of a man who had supposedly taken an oath to save lives.
Here’ a quote from the Grand Jury report:
“This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women… What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors. The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths. Over the years, many people came to know that something was going on here. But no one put a stop to it.”
Pro-abortion politics allowed Pennsylvania abortion clinics to go, for the most part, unmonitored and with few enforced health code restrictions. In Pennsylvania, nail salons appear to have stricter health code requirements and monitoring mechanisms than abortion clinics. The state, politicians, and the pro-abortion ideologues are all complicit in what occurred.
There’s such a perverse sense of morality in all of this. The Grand Jury has expressed shock and outrage; but they continue to affirm the need for legalized abortion. The pro-aborts are diving for cover and trying to justify all of this as “just one madman” who is not representative of the “safe abortion” world that they seek to create.
And then you have Gosnell, a man that would snip a newly born baby’s spinal cord and then joke as the writhing child died: “That’s what you call a chicken with its head cut off.” But what exactly was his crime? As Niamah Ui Bhrian of Life Institute put it:
“Gosnell was killing babies in a filthy clinic – and he breached the legal time limit for child-killing in the state of Pennsylvania – but for most of the thousands of children that died at Gosnell’s hands, the law was fully behind him. Gosnell sought out the most lucrative part of the abortion business; late-term abortions. And while he broke the letter of the law, [he allowed babies to escape the birth canal before he killed them] the spirit of the law had established his right to kill babies for profit. For Gosnell, it was then just a matter of bending the rules.”
That’s the insanity of legalized abortion. A pre-born baby is considered a mass of tissue that can legally be disposed of one minute and literally seconds later – at birth – the baby magically becomes a person worthy of protection and outrage when a madman murders it. It is so sickening that it is difficult to get one’s brain around it.
