Not quite sure what to make of this thing…this new “10-10 Campaign” to convince–or should we say intimidate–people into cutting their carbon emissions by 10 percent for the next 10 years. We’re sure the people who put this video together thought they were incredibly clever and I’ll bet there’s been more than one conversation about the awards they’re going to win.
The new 10:10 campaign has elicited help from some heavy hitters, too, just read the video’s youtube description:
Whippersnapping climate campaign 10:10 teams up with legendary comic screenwriter Richard Curtis – you know, Blackadder, Four Weddings, Notting Hill, co-founded Comic Relief – and Age of Stupid director Franny Armstrong to proudly present their explosive new mini-movie “No Pressure”. The film stars X-Files’ Gillian Anderson, together with Spurs players past and present – including Peter Crouch, Ledley King and David Ginola – with music donated by Radiohead. Shot on 35mm by a 40-strong professional film crew led by director Dougal Wilson, “No Pressure” celebrates everybody who is actively tackling climate change… by blowing up those are aren’t.
Did you catch the “blowing up” part? Yes, prepare yourself for fake blood and guts. This disturbing ad is a not-so-veiled threat directed at anyone who doesn’t accept “global climate change” dogma. But the dehumanization of ideological opponents and the callousness with which the writers and producers chose their characters and the vignettes –ought to give everyone pause.
We’ve written in the past about how “environmentalism” is not benign. But enough…you go watch it and tell us what you think.
