April H Gallart, California Chapter Director, combs through current news to find issues affecting families in California and helps to decide how to use the influence of UFI to counter these issues in order to protect families in California. April recently helped get the word out to Californians about how to counter the “bathroom bill”, by getting citizens to sign petitions to put a privacy bill on the next ballot. April also attends the annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York City each March. She helps set up visits and has served as a mission leader on many of these visits, during which the UFI team presents materials helpful to ambassadors and counselors that are meant to assist them in making sure language is included in upcoming bills that will protect and promote the natural family. April is bilingual and speaks English and Spanish. She worked as a bilingual elementary school teacher for 2 years and has used her Spanish speaking ability in mission visits during CSW each year. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from CSU Long Beach and a California Teacher’s credential. Issues that she is passionate about include parental rights and religious freedom. She and her husband, Henry, have 4 children.
