Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

2013 has been a big year for the abortion debate. The Gosnell trial, originally ignored by the media, took the nation by surprise as the cruel details of late term abortions were divulged. The House of Representatives then passed a bill banning abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy, and now there is Texas.

House and Senate bill 2 didn’t make it to the floor before the end of the legislative session. Governor Rick Perry called the legislatures back to finish the job making the abortion bill a priority. HB2/SB2 will ban abortion after the 20th week of pregnancy and regulate abortion clinics in the same way day surgery clinics are already regulated.

Pro-abortion protesters came out to the Capitol in Austin determined to stop the legislature from banning late term abortions. Small children were seen wearing obscene signs. Some protestors chanted “Hail Satan,” and most recently Capitol police confiscated jars of urine and feces pro-abortion activists planned to use as a disruption to the debate on the senate floor.

Unintimidated, the Texas legislature passed HB2/SB2 supporting the will of the majority.

In a survey conducted by the left-leaning Huffington Post 59% of respondents said they would favor a federal law banning abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Texas legislatures are not only passing a law that protects the unborn. They are passing a law that protects women. The strongest risk factor for a botched abortion resulting in the death of the mother is how far along the mother is in her pregnancy. After eight weeks gestation, the risk of mortality increases by 38 percent each additional week the pregnancy progresses.

The risk of maternal death is 35 times more likely in an abortion at 20 weeks than it was in the first trimester. Beyond 21 weeks, the mother is 91 times more likely to die from abortion than she was in the first trimester.

The pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute affirms the increased risk of late-term abortions:

“The risk of death associated with abortion increases with the length of pregnancy, from one death for every one million abortions at or before eight weeks to one per 29,000 at 16–20 weeks—and one per 11,000 at 21 or more weeks.”

We congratulate the senators and representatives that stood strong in the face of tremendous opposition to protect the women and children of Texas.
