Here is the weekly poll question:
“Is celebrating and cheering the death of a mass murderer like Osama Bin Laden an appropriate message to send to our children?”
Here is how our readers answered:
68 percent No
32 percent Yes
In the weeks following Bin Laden’s death, this topic has seen a lot of debate and discussion. For those of us who spend our days defending human life, it is difficult to hear cheering occurring at the death of anyone – even a mass murderer. But we also recognize that there has to be a clear understanding and distinction between right and wrong – good and evil. It is appropriate to be happy about the demise of evil. Our children need to learn to make those distinctions.
Thanks for participating in the poll and, as always, we welcome your comments.
