Last week we told you to contact Gov. Schwarzenegger in opposition to a bill that would establish May 22 as “Harvey Milk Day,” in honor of the openly homosexual politician. Yet, despite the objections of the people of California, Schwarzenegger signed the bill into effect Sunday night along with another bill recognizing all same-sex marriages performed in the U.S. before the passage of Prop. 8. Now every year, public schools in California will set aside May 22 to study and commemorate a man known only for his homosexuality.
In discussing the governor’s switch in position from last year, when he vetoed the same bill, most sighted the well-known 2008 film Milk, which glorified the life of the politician, and President Obama posthumously awarding Milk the Presidential Medal of Freedom as the two primary reasons for the governor’s change of heart. It appears that Schwarzenegger listens more to Hollywood and the capitol than to the people of California.
This is another victory for the homosexual lobby in their strategic attempts to normalize homosexual behavior through the public education system and formalize the belief that homosexuality is an identity, rather than a behavior. At United Families California, we are working to defend the family and stop this progression through education and action.
United Families California is working to keep you up-to-date and aware of the issues impacting the family. But to make a difference for the future of California families we need your help.
