Protect against Title IX and submit a comment by September 12, 2022.

The US Department of Education released their proposed changes to Title IX regulations that would dramatically change the future for women and girls in federally funded activities and programs. There are many negative impacts that will harm girls, women, and families.

A government portal has been set up for you to make a comment submission.  It is very straight-forward and easy to do.  In addition, this governmental body is required to read every submission, large and small – before they can finalize the new “Rule.”  So rest assured, your input will be read and considered.

TAKE A STAND TODAY

We’re handing YOU the mic!

No matter how small you think your voice is, as a mother, never before has your voice had the opportunity to be heard like it is now.

Right now, at the United Nations there’s a pretty fierce battle over motherhood taking place. Let’s not let anyone marginalize motherhood. Don’t let a few, speak for you. You’re the experts, so we’re handing YOU the mic at the United Nations! Every mother, sister, daughter, grandma, aunt, friend, father – we need your story!

Here’s what is happening. At the United Nations CSW (Commission on the Status of Women) conference, documents are being produced that refer to children as “burdens;” with the expressed desire to have the efforts (unpaid care and domestic work) usually performed by mothers “reduced and redistributed” to “national care systems” (the government). We know, it sounds shocking, but it’s true.

There is an unprecedented opportunity to do something about this. Pro-family groups will have a seat at the table and will be in attendance at a town hall with the Secretary General, Antonio Gutierrez (it will be streamed live Friday, March 17 at 9 a.m EST on the UN web tv). But this battle will go on for weeks.

Finally, true diversity, and fully inclusive voices will be heard.

No matter how small you think your voice is, as a mother, never before has your voice had the opportunity to be heard like it is now. Stand up and take the mic.

Here’s some ways you can be a part of the movement: (pick one, pick all)

1.Answer one, or all of these three questions, (or come up with your own) and post it to social media

  • You can’t pay me enough, because… (why money isn’t the reason you support motherhood)
  • Love is not a burden, because… (ways motherhood improves the world)
  • I’m not ashamed of motherhood, because… (why motherhood is fulfilling)

2.Tag all of your posts, (so we can find them and share them) with #MomStory and/or #EmpowerMothers, #LoveIsNotABurden, #CSW61

3.Copy and share this post – tag it with #MomStory, #EmpowerMothers, #LoveIsNotABurden, #CSW61 (Be sure to make these posts PUBLIC so they will count! You can do this per post, without changing your whole profile.)
