United Nations & National Sovereignty
The historic right of sovereign nations to govern themselves is being eroded and even nullified by powerful forces. United Nations conferences and treaties have become the easy target of powerful and well funded NGOs (non-governmental organizations) that, in the name of "human rights," seek to further their liberal social agenda by attacking traditional family values and structures and the sanctity of human life. Such UN documents create customary law and precedent threatening, via activist judges, to override the will of the people. Meanwhile, access by third-world countries to needed funds and programs is often subject to compliance with the social agenda of UN documents, creating a kind of cultural imperialism.
