Human Sexuality
After writing his famous multi-volume work on world history, noted historian Will Durant concluded: "Sex is a river of fire that must be banked and cooled by a hundred restraints if it is not to consume in chaos both the individual and the group." The sacred powers of procreation are intended to be reserved exclusively for expression in marriage between husband and wife. Sexual abstinence before marriage and fidelity in marriage not only prevents physical disease and emotional trauma, but also provides the maximum opportunity for happiness in marriage and peace in life. As with family and marriage, sexual morality is under heavy attack from all quarters, resulting in widespread social problems of every kind. So-called sexual liberation actually fetters society and individuals with a plethora of social maladies and ills.
