Abby Johnson, who worked and volunteered with Planned Parenthood for eight years, recently quit after watching the ultrasound of an abortion. She claimed watching the baby “crumple” as it was vacuumed from a woman’s uterus changed her heart and opinion towards abortion.
No longer working for Planned Parenthood, Johnson is also accusing the organization of promoting abortions for financial purposes.
“Every meeting that we had was, ‘We don’t have enough money, we don’t have enough money — we’ve got to keep these abortions coming,'” Johnson said. “It’s a very lucrative business and that’s why they want to increase numbers.”
According to Johnson, abortions were the most lucrative service the clinic provided, costing between $505 and $695 and bringing in around $10,000 a month. “For them there’s not a lot of money in education,” she said. “There’s as not as much money in family planning as there is abortion.”
Johnson has no evidence to support her claim that the clinic promoted abortions, but it is reassuring to see that even the most adamant abortion supporters can change their mind when confronted with the medical and physical realities of abortion.
